Hi Swimmers and Families!
I am working on getting my
email list right, it always takes a while. Please let me know if you do
not want to get these emails, or if you know of somebody who is not
getting them who should be. These emails (almost) always go out on
Sunday nights - sometimes late. Try to get in the habit of checking for
information about the upcoming week. This information can also be
found (eventually) at eastswimteam.blogspot.com.
This
will be our last week of preseason practices. Next week (October 5),
the attendance rules go into effect. Many have not yet registered on
RegisterMyAthlete.com. PLEASE do this right away! If you are not in
there by Monday October 5, you will NOT be allowed to practice with the
team! If you were registered last year, all your information should be
there, but you must register for THIS year. I MUST have your physical
for you to practice with us! Don't get behind on your attendance just
because you haven't registered for the team yet. Those of you involved
in other activities - Cross Country, Cheer, etc - should be able to just
add swimming. For those of you who need to get transfers approved -
from other schools, or exchange students - it is critical to get that in
the works now so you will be eligible to swim in the meets.
TEAM GEAR orders
are DUE NOW! Jodie will be at the pool Monday with the fit kit for
anyone who has not tried on a suit yet. Wednesday is the LAST day to
pay the Treasurer at East for your gear. Jodie is planning on
submitting the order Thursday!
The first round of painting the “E” went well Saturday
morning. The swimmers were able to edge,
scrape, wash, and paint 2 coats of red paint!
Looking forward to more swimmers help on Monday after practice. We will also make posters at this time to advertise
for Saturdays, Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction. See you all at the E!
It's hard to believe that the
breakfast and silent auction is less than a week away -- boy how time
flies! Fingers are crossed for another beautiful, sunny weekend and it
looks like Mother Nature will cooperate again! Thanks to those of you who
have donated items and food, let us know about your silent auction donation
request. This fundraiser definitely takes a village so everyone, please
plan to come and help! Here are a few reminders about the Pancake
Breakfast and Silent Auction

is the flyer and we encourage you all to post it on your FACEBOOK,
INSTAGRAM and/or TWITTER accounts and EMAIL/TEXT it to your
family and friends so we can get as many people as possible. We'll be
posting flyers around the school and encourage you to advertise around the
community this week. Remember to bring your cash and checkbooks to support our
team!
PANCAKE BREAKFAST TICKET SALES:
- Not many swimmers have handed in ticket proceeds to the treasurer yet. As a reminder, we are asking every swimmer to sell AT LEAST 5 TICKETS. Free workouts and vintage East Swim Team gear will be awarded to the three top ticket sellers. All money is to be turned into the East Treasurer. Tell her your name and to credit the East Swim Team account. She'll keep track of all the money you've earned so we can see who sells the most tickets!
- If you need MORE TICKETS to sell, Cam and Jack will have extras at the pool, or you can email us and we can make arrangements to drop them off.
SILENT AUCTION BASKETS / ITEMS:
- Every swimmer is asked to donate a basket or silent action item. We are getting some great things for the auction and are hopeful that everyone is planning to contribute a basket or auction ready item. Please plan to bring your Auction Item between 7:00 - 7:30 am Saturday morning and fill out a Bid Sheet with a description and value. Bid Sheets will be available that morning.
- If you need help "staging" your auction item, please let us know as soon as possible but not after September 29th. We are happy to help and offer suggestions.
DONATIONS AND VOLUNTEERS:
- Thank you again for your generosity - we have all of the equipment and food donated for the breakfast!
- All swimmers and as many parents as possible are asked to volunteer at the breakfast. We have several already signed up to help with the breakfast but need more help with set up, breakdown, silent auction and publicity. Please report at 7:00 a.m. the morning of the breakfast and we'll find a place for you. This is such a fun and profitable fundraiser for us -- be sure to come and make some memories with your swimmer!
