February 9 - 14, 2015 -- Sunday Update


Hello Everyone!

I'm missing most of you already!  I hope a bunch of you are planning on coming with the state swimmers to the meet at BYU!  It will be very exciting, and we are hoping for great swims!  Come cheer on your teammates and be inspired to get yourself qualified to swim at the state meet next year! Other than the college meets, the state meets are the fastest meets in the state. Meghan is seeded second in the 200 Free, and third in the 500 Free, so she will be right up at the front!  Nathan, also, is in the fast heat of Breaststroke, so that will be really fun too. 
Here is our schedule:

Friday, Feb 13:
  • 6:30 am Bus @ East (Required for State Swimmers, ALL EAST Swimmers are encouraged to ride the bus with us, however only swimmers on the state team are excused from school)
  • 8:00 am Teams are allowed on the deck.  Hurry and grab a spot!  Deck access is controlled.  Only swimmers with deck passes are allowed on the deck. Everyone else is expected to be in the stands.
  • 8:00 am Spectator tickets go on sale. $8 for adults, $4 for students
  • 8:45 am Warm-up begins
  • 10:00 am  Meet begins:  Medley Relay(Girls & Boys), 200 FR(Meghan), 200 IM(Jack), 50 FR(Nathan)

 Saturday, Feb 14th
  • 12:00 pm Bus @ East (Again, everyone invited - no school to miss this time!)
  • 1:30 pm Teams allowed on deck - only swimmers with deck passes
  • 1:30 pm Spectator tickets go on sale. Usually sells out. $8 for adults, $4 for students
  • 1:45 pm Warm-up begins
  • 3:00 pm  Meet begins: 100 FL, 100 FR, 500 FR(Katy, Meghan & Jack), 200 FR Relay(Girls & Boys), 100 BK(Katy, Griffin, Cameron), 100 BR(Nathan), 400 FR Relay(Girls)
This year tickets must be purchased at the BYU Smith Fieldhouse Ticket Office just south of Richards Building Pool. Spectators should purchase a ticket at the Smith Fieldhouse before standing in line at the Richards Building to enter the spectator balcony. 

After the meet on Saturday, the team and all East parents and supporters will be going to the Pizza Factory on University Parkway in Provo to celebrate the meet and the season.   All swimmers, family, and friends who want to attend need to let Jodie (snjswanson@msn.com) know and pay the East Treasurer $13.50 per person for dinner by Wednesday, February 11th.   The meal will include drinks, salad, bread sticks and pizza.

ALL swimmers and parents should MARK your calenders for the BANQUET on March 23rd.  This is where we really celebrate our year and the accomplishments of the team and the swimmers.  EVERYONE should plan to attend.  There is a save-the-date card attached.
