August 9, 2015 -- East Swim Team Pre-Season PARTY!‏

Aloha Swimmers!

We hope everyone has had a fantastic summer and ready for school to begin in a few short weeks! To get everyone excited about the quickly approaching swim season, we are hosting a pre-season SLIP N' SLIDE party! 

All East swimmers, any incoming freshman or anyone who is thinking about joining the team is invited!

WHEN: Monday, August 17th at 4 pm - 6:30 pm

WHERE: 490 East 16th Avenue (where last year's pre-season BBQ was)

WHAT TO BRING: Swimsuit, towel and appetite for some homemade water slide fun!

WHAT WE'LL EAT: Hot dogs, chips, watermelon and cookies will be served!

June 2, 2015--Touch the Wall Movie

Touch the Wall

This film follows the journey of Missy Franklin and Kara Lynn Joyce to the 2012 London Olympics. Touch the Wall has screened nationwide more than 300 times and more are happening every day. The film has been an inspiration to thousands of swimmers and athletes everywhere and momentum continues to build.  I think this is something you swimmers will be very interested in being a part of as it is a film primarily for you.  

The movie is being sponsored by the Kearns Youth Aquatic Team.  We would love to get the East swim team together to see it.

May 28, 2015--East High Physical Update

We have been informed that you can submit your filled-out and signed UHSAA Physical Form A tomorrow (May 29th) to Annie Funk in room room A324 (training room).

We have also been told that the Doctor will begin at 4:00 pm on Monday June 1st.  

Again, physicals for all of next years sports have been set for June 1st at 4:00 pm, room A324 (training room) which is Annie Funks room.  The cost is $10 and the doctor will not see an athlete unless all signatures on the Physical Form A are in place as well as the medical history.  NO EXCEPTIONS!  It is against the law to see a minor without consent.

May 26, 2015--East High Physicals

For those of you able to think far ahead, here is an opportunity to get your next year physical done now!

Physicals for all of next years sports have been set for June 1st after school in room A324 (training room) which is Annie Funks room. This a great way to be a head of the game to get registered and have physicals done early before next years tryouts.  And it is CHEAP!! Athletes can register on www.registermyathlete again in July for next year.

Be a part of history as the inaugural DirtyBird Mud Run hosts the “Longest Slip ‘n’ Slide” in the World,  5.5 miles of downhill  terrain, 15+ never seen before obstacles, 3,000′ of descent, a million laughs and a world-class apres party at the finish line!

We want to give you a front row seat to this amazing event! We're in search of awesome volunteers who enjoy having a great time while helping out others in Snowbird on Saturday, July 11th!

Below are the perks of volunteering:

• Swimmers that volunteer will receive credit to use towards gear, or other charges through the 2015-2016 swim season.
• A sweet volunteer t-shirt
• Groups of 10 or more are eligible for a monetary donation 
• Community service hours
• A front row seat to an exciting mud run with inspiring people
